I'm in the holiday mood! It's a lot easier to get into here in Japan since it isn't exactly shoved down your throat everywhere you turn. Although there are decorations everywhere and Gingerbread Lattes at Starbucks, I actually get excited when I happen upon some Christmas music in a cafe. From what I've heard, Christmas here is just like any other day, everyone works and goes about their normal business. I'm assuming it's similar to how it was in Shanghai, same thing-different day.
This is my absolute favorite Christmas album. Never mind the
stories of Phil Spector's strange and fascinating personal life, or he
and Ronnie's sour past (I love The Ronettes), this collaborative
holiday album is superb. Upbeat, feel good classic that puts me in the mood to drink a hot toddy or four!
The Ronettes are too cute. And that dance break in the middle....love it!
It's that perfect time of year to start watching Christmas movies. It's not too early and it's not too late, as in I'm not burnt out of the holiday cheer just yet.
But why can't they make them like they used to? Just watched this and this. Both had their moments, but certainly not any lasting ones.
We took a lovely weekday trip to Kamakura last week. Weekday trips are the way to go. The colors were
amazing and the shrines were peaceful with few
tourists around.
I didn't realize until we got to the beach, that this was the same place
I visited this summer to escape the city
humidity. Although it was abnormally warm out for November, I don't know
how the windsurfers didn't freeze to death.
